[Updated February 2017] Notice regarding the end of the service and the termination of acceptance of new applications and applications for changes
ATM access and MDN access
As of February 28, 2017, new applications for ATM access and MDN access through KDDI IP-VPN are no longer accepted. Customers who are currently using these services may continue to use them until the services are terminated.
Part of Broadband Value Pack
As of May 31, 2016, new applications for the FLET'S and ADSL items in the withF+ plan that are part of the KDDI IP-VPN Broadband Value Pack are no longer accepted. Customers who are currently using the services may continue to use them.
Part of High-Speed Digital access

The KDDI IP-VPN carriers indicated below no longer provide the service or accept new applications and applications for changes.

  • As of December 31, 2012, this service is no longer provided by KDDI (formerly POWEREDCOM, Inc.) and K-Opticom Corporation.
  • As of March 31, 2015, this service is no longer provided by Tohoku Intelligent Telecommunication Co., Inc. and STNet, Inc.
  • As of March 1, 2012, new applications and applications for changes are no longer accepted by HTNet.
  • As of June 30, 2011, new applications and applications for changes are no longer accepted by CHUBU TELECOMMUNICATIONS CO., INC. As of May 31, 2014, new applications and applications for changes are no longer accepted by HOTNet, Inc., Energia Communications, Inc., and QTNet. As of March 31, 2016, the service is no longer provided by any of these carriers.
  • As of March 31, 2016, new applications and applications for changes are no longer accepted by OTNet. As of March 31, 2017, the service is no longer provided.
DSL access
As of December 15, 2014, new applications and applications for changes are no longer accepted. As of March 31, 2017, the service is no longer provided.

Service Level Agreement (SLA)

What is the "Service Level Agreement"?

KDDI guarantees the quality of the PE-to-PE IP-VPN network. If the service quality does not meet KDDI's standards, we will refund a specified amount to customers, ensuring that the service quality is guaranteed by the quantitative index.

The SLA provisions are as follows.

a) Availability

We guarantee constant connectivity to the KDDI IP-VPN network (KDDI POI-IP-VPN network is always available).

b) Average in-network delay

We guarantee an average monthly delay for the entire KDDI domestic backbone network below a certain level.

c) Failure recovery time

In the event of failure in the KDDI domestic backbone network, we guarantee recovery within a certain time.

SLA for availability (1)

We guarantee constant availability of the backbone zone from a POI connected to the customer's access line. If the availability per month is less than 99.9%, we will refund part of the usage fees for that month according to the availability rate. Availability is guaranteed for each access line.

SLA for availability (2)

If availability per month is less than 99.9%, we will refund part of the monthly charges as shown in the table below.

SLA for average in-network delay

We guarantee an average in-network round-trip delay per month (Note) for the entire KDDI domestic backbone network of less than 35ms (100 bytes). If the delay exceeds 35ms, we will refund 1/30 of the service charges for that month.

  • Note)
    The monthly average obtained when the PE-PE round-trip time for an ICMP packet (100 bytes) by different channels is measured at 5-minute intervals (5 times per trip).

SLA for failure recovery

In the event of failure in the SLA applicable zone, we guarantee recovery within a certain time. If the time from detection of failure by KDDI until confirmation of recovery exceeds the time specified below, we will refund part of the monthly usage fees according to the table below depending on the time.

  • As constant availability is guaranteed within the applicable zone, failure recovery is not guaranteed if availability can be secured by redundant path.
