  • Please see the Open link in a new windowNTT East and Open link in a new windowNTT West websites for current information regarding Mega Data Netz service areas.
Interface When KDDI installs the Ethernet converter Other
Ethernet (10BASE-T)
Full duplex and half duplex (fixed)
ATM interface
  • ATM 25M (metal cables)
  • ATM 150M (fiber optic I cables, fiber optic II cables)
Minimum Contract Period One year

Ethernet (Type S)

Applications for this service from new applicants as well as applications for modifications are no longer accepted.

Product Speed (bps) 10M (20 users or less sharing)
Service Area High-density demand areas in Kanto, Chubu, Kansai
Interface Ethernet (10BASE-T)
Communication Method Half duplex (fixed)
Minimum Contract Period One year
  • Bandwidth is not guaranteed
The Type S option does not control data traffic nor does it carry a guarantee of minimum bandwidth. Consequently, the data transmission speed may be affected by other users' traffic. Depending on the type of data (voice, streaming audio/video, etc.), quality may be unsatisfactory.
  • Transmission traffic restrictions
In order to prevent other users of the same hub from being inconvenienced, any user who averages a transmission traffic of 2Mbps or above for a continuous 2-hour period may be asked to switch to the Type G option or may be suspended from further use of the Type S option.

ATM

Product Speed (bps) 3M - 120M (selectable in 1M increments)
Service Area Nationwide
Interface Ethernet (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX)
Communication Method Full duplex and half duplex (fixed)
Minimum Contract Period One year
  • Services are no longer provided in the Kanto area and Kansai area as of December 31, 2012 and in the Tohoku area and Shikoku area as of March 31, 2015.
New applications and applications for changes are no longer accepted in the Hokuriku area as of March 1, 2012.

  • The product speed is listed as the maximum download speed. The actual download speed may vary due to network traffic. The maximum upload speed is 1Mbps.
  • There is no guaranteed minimum speed for 1Mbps [guaranteed speed: -] or 12Mbps [guaranteed speed: -].
  • The maximum speed may not be available due to numerous factors, including the distance from the closest NTT local switch, the condition of the NTT local switch equipment and interference from other lines. In addition, some locations may be determined to be unsuitable for this service during installation.
  • If you are unsatisfied with the line quality, service or maintenance response, KDDI may ask you to change from DSL to another access method.
