From Inmarsat-C mobile terminals, it is possible to transmit messages to telex, facsimile and data communications terminals at extremely low cost. Because messages are transmitted by a Store & Forward method, it will take a minimum of 5 to 10 minutes from the time of transmission until the time of reception.
Also users can take to use SatMail-C (Internet E-Mail transmission) Service.

KDDI Land Earth Station (LES) can be used from all four ocean regions (POR, IOR, AOR-W, and AOR-E). The rates are the same for calls from all these ocean regions. |
| * |
Normal transmission rate consists of 32 alphanumeric characters per 256bit unit. If the ship terminal has a transmission rate of 1 character per 5 bits, it is possible to transmit 51 characters per 256bit unit. |
| * |
The "header" portion of the message which contains various information such as the name of sender, address, etc., is also subject to charges. The "header" portion usually costs the equivalent of about three 256bit units. |
|
 |
|
| Please note that the actual amount billed may vary from the sum of the individual charges including tax because the tax payable is calculated from the sum of the individual charges excluding tax. |
