Using a compact Inmarsat-M4 terminal, subscribers of Inmarsat-M4 (Multi Media Mini M) Service can connect with an ISDN line user or another Inmarsat-M4 terminal at 64kbps (that is approx. 27 times the speed of standard Mini-M system). Equipped with this terminal and service, the user can take advantage of comfortable and fast 64kbps data communications in locations where neither telecommunications infrastructure nor access to an ISDN circuit is available.
Not only Internet access but also a variety of multimedia applications ranging from transmission/reception of digital still and video images to videoconferencing and telemedicine are possible with this service.
Also users can take advantage of multimedia connectivity (standard function of Inmarsat-Fleet terminals) to use Internet Packet Data Service.

Inmarsat-M4 terminals are available for sale or rental from KDDI Network & Solutions Inc. - A member company of KDDI Group.
