The Inmarsat-Mini-M Equipment is a very small portable satellite telephone. With this equipment, you can telephone, fax, and communicate data at almost any place in the world.

Usage
KDDI provides an exclusive communication card for the Inmarsat-Mini-M equipment, called "KDDI Inmarsat Card." If you make communication with this equipment by a KDDI Inmarsat card, the charges will be billed to the card contract party. You can save a QRC-Fee of 30 yen per call by using the card.

To make a contract for this card, 30,000 yen must be deposited with KDDI, but no contract fee or member fee is necessary.

How to Make a Telephone Call with the Inmarsat-Mini-M Equipment
1.  Insert a Inmarsat Card in the Inmarsat-Mini-M terminal. (If you don't use the card, skip to the next.)
2.  Power on the Mini-M terminal.
3.  Enter the password for the KDDI Inmarsat Card into the equipment. (Without the card, enter the password for the equipment.)
4.  Direct the antenna toward the satellite and prepare for transmission (only portable land use model).
5.  Enter 00 - country code (e.g., 81 for Japan) - area code (excluding the prefix 0) - subscriber number. For example, if you are calling 03-1234-5678 in Tokyo, enter:

00 81 3 1234 5678

6.  Press the START button.

In addition to the purchase cost for the equipment, the use of Inmarsat-Mini-M costs as follows. (In the case of a contract for a general license terminal.)

If you don't use a KDDI Inmarsat Card, a fee of 30 yen per call (31.5yen (tax included)) or a fee of 300 yen per call (315yen (tax included)) via an overseas earth station is charged.

Discount rate periods for each ocean regions are as follows:
