Can I use the domain name that I have been using so far? |

You can use any domain name that you have already acquired, except for the Japanese-language JP domain names. You can also use gTLD domains, but please note that, in this case, customers themselves are responsible for requesting for primary and secondary DNS registration to registrars.
 Can I use KDDI sub-domains? |

No. You cannot use KDDI sub-domains.
Can I acquire my own domains privately? |

Yes, but only general-use JP domain names, geographic type JP domain names, or GR domains out of organizational type JP domain names in case of groups (e.g. yamada.jp, yamada.togane.chiba.jp, yamadaclub.gr.jp).
Can I acquire two JP domains? |

The JPRS, as a rule, restricts the number of organizational type JP domain names that can be registered to one domain per organization, so it is not possible to register more than one domain name for the same organization. However, you can use technology to create sub-domains or name-servers etc. Also, general-use JP domain names do not have a restriction on the number of domain names, so you can acquire multiple names.
How can I keep our organizational or geographic type JP domain name registration alive after a year? |

You can do so by paying the domain name retention fee, even if you have not set up your name server. If you do not pay the retention fee, however, your domain name will be "frozen" for a period of six months, and it is possible to re-apply for the domain name from one month before the end of this period (simultaneous applicaton period). (See "JPNIC FAQ Q5150".)
