Our data center buildings have an earthquake-proof structure resistant to earthquakes with even a seismic intensity of 7. Moreover, KDDI has adopted the Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) in addition to a fire alarm system and a fire spread prevention system to ensure the fullest protection against fires (see Note).

Our Data Centers boast a direct connection to the highest-capacity, fastest Internet backbones in Japan. In addition to high-speed connections to JPIX and dix-ie (former NSPIXP-2) in Japan and major IX in Europe and the United States, we enable a high-speed connection to major domestic and overseas ISPs. Additionally, a wide variety of network services are available, such as IP-VPN, Ether-VPN, frame relay/cell relay, leased circuits, DOD and Ether Access (see Note).

KDDI Data Centers are fully equipped with power/climate control systems with a redundant configuration, being totally prepared for the usage of large-scale servers. In the event of a blackout, we provide uninterrupted backup using our uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and in-house generators.

Our security system is solid, including surveillance cameras, controlled entry to the buildings using an IC card, locked racks and cages and surveillance by staff on duty for 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. In addition, all entries to and exits from the buildings are controlled also through pre-visit authorization, registration, and recording (see Note).
