This service meets our customers’ diversified needs by offering various access methods and connection configurations, such as mobile connection (mobile phones/PHS), ADSL connection, Internet connection (see Note), high-speed digital connection, ATM connection, Mega Data Netz connection, KDDI's Ether Access connection, utility NCC Ethernet connection (HOTnet, TOHKnet, CTC, HTNet, K-Opticom, Energia Communications, STNet, QTNet, and OTNet) and Data Center connection.

| Note: |
Usage is via IP-VPN. |

Interconnection with the KDDI IP-VPN service enables the access to Ether-VPN from various environments such as mobile connection, xDSL connection, Internet connection and international connection.

Installation cost is low because it is not necessary to install an expensive router, which was required for the conventional WAN service, and it is possible to connect locations using a switch or a hub only. For the interface, the standard Ethernet interface is used regardless of access line type. Therefore, there is no need to change the customer’s hardware when changes are made to the lines, such as increasing the speed.

We offer a variety of line speed, ranging from low-speed (128 Kbps) to high-speed (1 Gbps), to meet our customers’ diversified communication needs. Our service fully deals with the increasing Intranet traffic.

Customers can select either “zone selection type”, which divides the country into eight zones, or “nationwide uniform charge type”, which is a bundled service for cross-zone communication, according to their usage configurations.

VLAN is established for each customer by using VLAN technology for constructing virtual LAN. By establishing closed networks between multiple locations, high confidentiality and security are ensured.

Since Ether-VPN backbones and equipment use a redundant configuration, it is possible to restore them within a short period of time even when a failure occurs. Furthermore, our service quality is also ensured through Service Level Agreement (SLA).
