KDDI KDDI Hikari Direct not only offers low rates, but it provides multifaceted solutions to help reduce your total communication costs. Since Hikari Direct phone numbers follow the ordinary 0AB to J system, they allow you to receive calls from other companies' IP phones as well as overseas numbers.

Calls to fixed lines anywhere in Japan are charged at 8 yen (8.4 yen including tax)/3 minutes. Very attractive international calls rates are also available for as many as 225 locations around the world (e.g. 9 yen/minute to the U.S.)
Calls to mobile phones at 18 yen (18.9 yen including tax)/minute, and calls to PHSs at 10 yen (10.5 yen including tax)/call + 10 yen (10.5 yen including tax)/minute are also very economical (in addition, calls to au phones are eligible for the "au incoming call discount" of 15%).
We also offer monthly flat-rate plans starting from the 20,000 yen (21,000 yen including tax)/month package for 8 channels, and up to 1,000 channels are available.

Calls between KDDI Hikari Direct numbers as well as KDDI IP phones (which include KDDI Metal Plus (for Businesses), Internet IP phones, and Intranet IP phones) are free (see Note). Therefore, introducing Hikari Direct in combination with KDDI IP phones at all your offices, allows reduction in inter-office communication costs. As an optional service with this, we offer KDDI-IP Phone Centrex (type 1), which can be used for constructing extension networks.

| Note: |
Customers calling from KDDI Metal Plus (for Businesses) need to register for the "Flat Rate Unlimited Calls between Businesses" plan. |

Customers who already have NTT phones can take over their NTT number (0AB to J number) to KDDI Hikari Direct subscription. Dial-in numbers can also be taken over.
We do, however, provide new numbers for customers who do not wish to take over the old number, or who require additional numbers.
Using Hikari Direct as a Free Call receiving line also opens up possibilities for introducing the IP system to your call centers and realizing cost reductions.

Number portability is only available when the location is not changed. |
| * |
Number portability may not be available depending on the NTT subscriber switching system that manages the customer's phone lines. |
| * |
When an NTT number is taken over with number portability, such NTT phone will be handled as discontinued. In such cases, customers will be billed 2,000 yen (2,100 yen including tax) as the discontinuation work fee by NTT. |
| * |
Even if the ownership of the NTT subscriber right is transferred while the service is discontinued, the 0AB to J number taken over to KDDI Hikari Direct can be used continously. |
| * |
Customers who have taken over their numbers will be required to renew their registration with the 104 directory assistance and apply again for Hello Page and Town Page listings. Applications for 104 registration and Hello Page listings can be made at the same time as applying for the phone service. For Town Page listings, NTT will provide telephone consultations. |
| * |
The currently used KDDI Direct Line 0AB to J numbers cannot be taken over. |
| * |
When toll-free numbers were used through NTT subscriber phones, such toll-free services will become inaccessible from the time when the 0AB to J numbers of NTT phones are taken over to Hikari Direct via number portability. Customers must confirm this at the time of subscription and will be required to change these numbers to KDDI's Free Call numbers. |
