Each IP phone subscription comes with one phone number (0AB to J number) and eight channels.
Customers add numbers and channels (see Note) optionally.

| Note: |
The number of channels represents the number of simultaneous connections. |

| * |
One IP phone subscription allows the use of up to 500 channels. Subscribing to an additional IP phone allows a maximum of 1,000 channels per access line. |
| * |
Calls to emergency numbers 110 (police), 119 (fire/ambulance), or 118 (coast guard) are not available. We strongly recommend that you retain at least one telephone line that allows you to call emergency numbers. |

We rent out media converters and an EGWs to our customers. Existing PBX/telephone sets may be used continuously. We offer two types of EGWs for rent: analog type (COT: 8 channels) and digital type (PRI: 23 channels). We are also planning to start offering the digital type (BRI: 8 channels) and OD trunk type for rent within fiscal 2005.
Media converter rental fees are included in the basic charge.

| * |
Customers may also arrange for their own GW equipment supporting IP-PBX, PRI, BRI, or OD rather than using rented terminals. Please allow us to advise you on what equipment supports KDDI Hikari Direct. |

<Multiple EGWs>

A router needs to be installed.

| * |
The IP phone and Internet segments are separate. |
| * |
The IP phone segment does not require filtering by the router since it already undergoes filtering within the network to control access from the Internet. |

<Internet connection>

If you subscribe to an Internet connection in addition to the IP phone, you will need to use a router for achieving your indoor voice quality standards. Only router models recommended by KDDI may be used.
