The following explanation (important) is on "KDDI Metal Plus (for Businesses)", a service for KDDI subscribers.

1. Company providing this service
KDDI Corporation

2. Name (section of service)
This service provides the following two services.
Metal Plus Telephone (for Businesses) Analog/[Telephone service]
Metal Plus Telephone (for Businesses) BRI (ISDN Basic Interface)/[Telephone service]

3. Service area
This service is offered only in the areas designated by KDDI.

* There are cases where subscriptions in the service areas may not be available due to equipment-related reasons.

4. Definition of this service
Metal Plus Telephone (for Businesses) Analog (hereinafter referred to as "Metal Plus (for Businesses) Analog") is an analog line service.
Metal Plus Telephone (for Businesses) BRI (ISDN Basic Interface) (hereinafter referred to as "Metal Plus (for Businesses) BRI") is a service that offers a call mode for ISDN basic interface (2B + D), "voice" or "3.1 kHz audio"
Digital call mode and packet call mode are not included in this service.

5. Contents of this service
(1)  Contents of service common to both types
This service offers the usage of domestic calls (intra-city/out-of-city/mobile/PHS/IP phones) and international calls.
This service enables calls to "110 (police)", "118 (coast guard)" and "119 (fire station)".

* When emergency numbers (110, 118, 119) are dialed, the name, address and telephone number of the subscriber making a call is notified to the party receiving the call (police, fire stations) (excluding some police and fire stations). However, if you add "184" before dialing these numbers, such information is not notified. The non-display setting for each line does not apply for emergency numbers. If you desire to prevent your personal information from being notified, please dial "184" first every time you make a call.

For lines connected to an automatic call device (telephone) which enables emergency calls such as 110 and 119[1], this service may not be usable depending on the functions and telephone numbers of call destinations. Therefore, subscription to this service is not available.
If you have any questions, contact the service provider or manufacturer.

[1]  Devices which automatically call 110 (police) or 119 (fire station) numbers by pressing emergency buttons and send the caller's information through automated voice or telephones provided to the elderly and disabled by local governments, enable making emergency calls by pressing buttons (there is a pendant type). They are called the "emergency call system" and "welfare phone"

In this service, some calls and functions (additional services, etc.) are not available.
Lines subscribed to this service cannot be used for FTTH service (such as "B Flet's"), another company's ADSL service (24-hour Internet connection service) and Flet's ISDN. When currently using an ADSL service provided by another company or Flet's ISDN, make sure that you cancel such service since it is impossible to continue it.

* When using another company's ADSL connection service, please remove the modem or turn off the power by the date when this service starts. If this is not followed, the telephone may not be usable even after the service starts.

In some cases, this service is not usable as connection lines for banks' online payment terminals using Credit Authorization Terminal (CAT terminal) lines, security lines, and telephone lines.
When using modem communication for this service, it may be susceptible to the environment of customers' premises, communication equipment and lines.
This service is not applicable to other discount services (KDDI and other companies) for local and out-of-city calls.
This service does not provide terminal equipment for rental.
Combined usage of some additional services is restricted in this service. Please confirm which services are available or not before subscription.
In this service, another company's telephone service for local and out-of-city calls is not usable.
As for the services available in this service such as local/out-of-city/mobile calls and international automatic dialing, including the cases mentioned above, calls additionally using other carriers' identification numbers ("0033", "0088", etc.) are regarded as calls from this service, and this service's call rates apply.

(2)  Contents of Metal Plus (for Businesses) Analog Service
When using a single line, it is possible to use our ADSL connection service, "Metal Plus Net DION ADSL 50". For subscription/usage of "Metal Plus Net DION ADSL 50", make sure to read the attachment, "Metal Plus Net DION ADSL 50 050 Service (KDDI IP phone): Important Explanatory Pamphlet".
With regard to dial-up Internet connection, this service may not be available depending on the telephone number to be connected.
Sky PerfecTV!'s Pay Per View (PPV) service is available. However, it may be susceptible to the environment of customers' premises, communication equipment and lines.
Fax communications may not be available depending on the environment of customers' premises.

(3)  Contents of Metal Plus (for Businesses) BRI Service
To use Metal Plus (for Businesses) BRI, it is necessary to set up DSU (or TA with built-in DSU, PBX with built-in DSU, etc.). Although currently used DSU (or TA with built-in DSU, PBX with built-in DSU, etc.) can be used, it may be necessary to change the data in the DSU or reset the DSU depending on the environment of customers' premises.

* If renting DSU from NTT East/NTT West, we recommend purchasing the rented DSU from NTT East/NTT West in order to smoothly switch over to Metal Plus (for Businesses) BRI.
For details, please contact NTT East/NTT West (116).

Internet connection and personal computer communications are not available in the digital communication mode.
For G3FAX, please connect to an analog port, such as TA with built-in DSU. G4FAX is available only when it is compatible to the G3 mode.
When using INS-Net 64 while renting an adapter[2], which amplifies line signals, from NTT West/NTT East, Metal Plus (for Businesses) BRI is not available.

[2]  The front of the equipment states "HL-ADP" or "HR-ADP".

6. Changes in the case of switching from NTT East/NTT West subscribed phones or INS-Net 64 to KDDI Metal Plus (for Businesses)
(1)  Changes in the case of switching to KDDI Metal Plus (for Businesses) (Common)
When subscribing to this service, the use of NTT East/NTT West subscribed phones and INS-Net 64 is suspended, and "Subscriber Telephone Light Plan" and "INS-Net 64 Light" are canceled.

* In the case of a switchover from NTT East/NTT West, KDDI carries out the procedures for usage suspension and cancellation for the customer.
* When the customer cancels NTT East/NTT West subscribed phones or INS-Net 64 and wants to re-subscribe to NTT East/NTT West phones or INS-Net 64, the customer is required to pay the equipment setup fees.

When part of the customer's telephone line is not a Metal line (optic fiber used), we will change such part to a Metal line.
NTT East/NTT West's additional and discount services are canceled.
The following services are not usable: "Off-talk Communications Service", "No-ringing Communications Service" (remote meter control for electricity/gas/water), packet communications, "Flet's ISDN", "L mode", "F-net (facsimile communications service)", "Signal Monitoring Service" (security companies, etc.), second packet (DDX-TP) and User to User Information (UUI), all offered by NTT East/NTT West.

* Please contact service providers (information center, stores, security companies, etc.) by yourself to stop the service usage. Cancellation fees may be incurred whether or not you have used these services previously.

If paying a rental fee for interior wiring to NTT East/NTT West, the interior wiring concerned becomes the customer's equipment upon switching over to this service, and it is not required to pay the rental fee thereafter. In this case, the customer is responsible for maintenance for the section of interior wiring. If the customer desires to entrust the interior wiring maintenance to KDDI, KDDI charges actual expenses for every installation.
My Line Service (My Line/My Line Plus) is automatically canceled.
When continuing to use or newly using the 104 directory assistance and number listing in telephone books (Hello Page/Town Page/Town & Hello Page), it is necessary to apply for these services to KDDI.
In this service, listing in Town Page and Hello Page is possible.
When NTT East/NTT West lines are canceled, no telephone books are distributed to the customer. If wanting to purchase a telephone book, call the Town Page Center (Tel: 0120 -506-309).

* KDDI does not distribute telephone books.
* If the customer desires to list advertising in a telephone book, please call the Town Page Center listed above.

When the customer uses NTT East/NTT West's additional services; "switchboard number notification service", "dial-in service", "double number service" or "i-number service", if the customer switches some of the lines used for these additional services to this service and stops using some NTT East/NTT West services, all the other additional services which you do not intend to stop will be also canceled.
When subscribing to this service, NTT East/NTT West may contact you or send a notice letter to you.

(2)  Changes in the case of switching from NTT East/NTT West INS-Net 64 to Metal Plus (for Businesses) Analog
Upon the subscription to Metal Plus (for Businesses) Analog, even if the customer is currently using INS-Net 64, it is switched over to analog lines. In this case, it is necessary to change the reception configuration to analog trunk for PBX at the customer's location. Please check the space of the analog trunk and arrange construction for changing the reception configuration with a maintenance company.

* When using two channels, it will be changed to one channel (one line). Additionally, when using i-number, it is necessary to subscribe to a line for the telephone number used for the i-number.
* When switching over from INS-Net 64, it is necessary to remove DSU and terminal adapter (TA) on the day when this service starts. Please make sure to do so, or the customer may not be able to use telephone or modem communications. Please remove DSU and TA by yourself. In addition, ISDN special telephones and ISDN special terminals are not usable.

(3)  Changes in the case of switching from NTT East/NTT West subscribed phones to Metal Plus (for Businesses) BRI
When subscribing to Metal Plus (for Businesses) BRI, even if the customer is currently using an NTT subscribed phone, it is switched over to Metal Plus (for Businesses) BRI. In this case, the use of DSU (or TA with built-in DSU, PBX with built-in DSU, etc.) is necessary, so please arrange it by yourself. If using PBX, contact a maintenance company.

7. Number portability
This service allows customers to continue to use the current NTT East/NTT West telephone number (hereinafter referred to as "number portability").

* This is limited to only NTT East/NTT West's general subscribed phones' numbers and Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN). Other numbers and cases when the customer changes the location for usage are not applicable to the number portability service.
* Number portability is limited to telephone numbers currently used by a subscriber and telephone types offered by NTT East/NTT West which are not public phones, temporary phones, or branch representative phones.
* Even if the conditions above are met, some telephone numbers may not be applicable to continuous use. In such cases, KDDI provides new telephone numbers.

When subscribing to number portability, this service starts upon the completion of the telephone number transfer by NTT East/NTT West. During the transfer, the telephone is not usable temporarily.
Upon the completion of the transfer mentioned above, the subscription to NTT East/NTT West phones is suspended (the customer is not in charge of this procedure), and the customer is separately charged 2,000 yen (2,100 yen including tax) per line as a suspension work fee by NTT East/NTT West.
When the customer stops a subscription to NTT East/NTT West phones, they send a suspension notice letter to the customer. Please keep this suspension notice letter at hand since it is necessary when re-subscribing to NTT East/NTT West.
As a rule, the period of suspension of NTT East/NTT West subscription is five years. However, you can extend it to six years or longer by notifying to NTT East/NTT West. Please note that you may lose your right of suspension if you do not report the extension. For details, contact NTT East/NTT West.
When changing the telephone number used for this service's number portability option to NTT East/NTT West or other companies (hereinafter referred to as "number portability to other companies"), notify your intention to continue the use of the same number to NTT East/NTT West or any other company to which you are changing.

* In the case of number portability to other companies, this service becomes unavailable once NTT East/NTT West or any other company to which you are changing completes the number transfer procedures (this service is available from the time of application for number portability to completion of number transfer procedures).
* When applying for number portability to other companies, contact the company to which you are changing to check the period of time and fees required for the number transfer.

If the telephone number that you intend to use for this service's number portability option is the same as the one you use for paying the lease or making the installment payment of the communication equipment terminal currently used, please contact NTT Finance Corp. (call 0120-866-612) in advance and do any necessary procedures, such as changing the payment method. If you are renting equipment (black telephones, touch-tone telephones) from NTT East/NTT West, contact NTT East/NTT West.
If the telephone number that you intend to use for this service's number portability option is the same as the one you use for paying the fixed-rate maintenance contract of the communication equipment terminal currently used, please contact NTT East/NTT West (call 116) in advance.
If the telephone number that you intend to use for this service's number portability option is the billing address for the Flet's service currently used, please contact NTT East/NTT West (call 116) in advance.
With regard to the telephone number intended for this service's number portability option, customers who are Internet service providers are required to inform all of their customers (end users) using TELE-HODAI, for which the telephone number concerned is registered. In addition, please note that NTT East/NTT West may inform the customers about this.
If you are a NTT East/NTT West subscriber with a collect call billing service (Free Dial, etc.) contract with companies other than KDDI, switch over to the KDDI Free Call service before the number portability is completed (once the number portability is completed, collect call billing services other than KDDI's are not usable).
For number portability, our company may be presented by NTT East/NTT West with the customer's contract information related to NTT East/NTT West's telephone services (creation of a pledge or provisional attachment related to the line holder or facility installation fees).

8. Matters regarding new installation of lines/setup location transfer
If your phones are currently not subscribed to NTT East/NTT West and there are no telephone lines connected to your premises, "Metal New Installation (paid)", installation work of new telephone lines is required. In this case, telephone numbers are provided by our company. Also, telephone numbers cannot be specified by customers.

* When there are no telephone lines within customer's premises, installation work within the premises is required.
* Even if there are telephone lines within customer's premises, there may be cases where installation work within the premises is necessary (if switching from the ADSL special type, installation work is required).
If the customer using this service has to relocate the lines due to moving and other reasons, relocation installation work (paid) is required. In this case, the current telephone number cannot be transferred, and new telephone numbers are provided by our company. Also, telephone numbers cannot be specified by customers.

9. Matters regarding subscription and start of service
This service is provided based on "Conditions of Metal Plus Telephone Service Contract" and NTT East/NTT West's "Special Services Contract Conditions".
The management office for this service is decided in compliance with the management office established by NTT East/NTT West, according to where the customer's line is installed.
This service is not offered to customers using pink-colored public phones, group phones and branch representative phones.
Customers who are currently not subscribed to NTT East/NTT West or INS-Net 64 are required to present identification documents such as a certified copy of registration in order to newly subscribe to this service. Furthermore, depending on the situation of lines within customer's premises (e.g. there are no telephone lines because the building is newly built, etc.), installation work within the customer's premises may be necessary. When requesting the installation work to KDDI, KDDI will charge the customer for the actual cost.
Customers who are minors need parental consent before subscription.
The construction for starting this service is done on weekdays (9:00-17:00). In addition, telephones may not be usable temporarily during this construction.
When starting this service, our company or a construction company designated by our company may observe the preliminary usage survey or the start of the service.
If communication equipment has to be set up within customer's premises when starting the usage of this service, the customer is required to arrange the setup.
If the customer has been using discount services for local or out-of-city calls before starting this service, please cancel the discount services separately, in addition to subscribing to this service. If they have not been canceled, a fixed fee may be charged. Additionally, if the customer has been using KDDI's discount services, they will be canceled except for some discount services.
In addition, if switching the telephone number used for discount services such as "Marutoku Waribiki Light" to this service by means of the number portability option, a 25% discount will apply to the amount of international calls billed by the KDDI card to the said number.
Even with the subscription to this service, it may not be usable depending on equipment (if part of NTT East/NTT West's lines is fiber-optic, for example). In addition, since the number of lines that a customer can possess is limited depending on the customer's area, the date for the start of this service may be different from the one initially announced or the service may be not usable.
If the customer submits a subscription form for the lines outside the area where this service is offered, the subscription may be declined.
If switching from NTT East/NTT West subscribed phones or INS-Net 64 to this service, this service may not be usable due to polarity reversal. If this happens, contact the KDDI Business Support Center (0120-929113: open 24 hours a day and 365 days a year/toll-free).
If using Metal Plus (for Businesses) BRI, the customer needs to contact NTT East/NTT West to confirm the connection method (P-P connection/P-MP connection).
If changing from Metal Plus (for Businesses) Analog to Metal Plus (for Businesses) BRI or from Metal Plus (for Businesses) BRI to Metal Plus (for Businesses) Analog, the current telephone numbers cannot be transferred.

10. Matters regarding cancellation
If canceling this service and resuming the currently suspended subscription to NTT East/NTT West, construction work (paid) is required through NTT East/NTT West. For details, contact NTT East/NTT West.

11. Usage charges
See the list of charges for "KDDI Metal Plus (for Businesses)"

Conditions regarding service quality Restrictions regarding the usage of telecommunications services
Other conditions Conditions regarding charges Other provisions Campaign

Conditions regarding service quality
ADSL is a best-effort type service, and the speeds listed (downstream and upstream speeds) are theoretical figures between ADSL sections. The actual figures change according to the situation of lines, interference with other lines and distance from the switchboard station (maximum transmission speeds and connection speeds are not necessarily guaranteed)

Restrictions regarding the usage of telecommunications services
Services may not be available during network equipment maintenance or a firmware update for the modem.

Other conditions
<Subscription>
Since subscription to this service means the ADSL connection service shared with the Metal Plus telephone provided by our company, the customer is required to separately subscribe to and use the Metal Plus telephone.
(If the customer does not subscribe to or use the Metal Plus telephone, this service is not available. Additionally, as for the subscription to or usage of the Metal Plus telephone, make sure to read the conditions for "Metal Plus Telephone" listed separately.)
Subscription to the Metal Plus telephone and this service must be under the same name.
This service is available only for the lines used exclusively for the Metal Plus phone (it is not available for lines used for additional services unique to businesses, such as switchboard or dial-in services). Additionally, the usage of additional services unique to businesses, such as switchboard or dial-in services, is not available even after canceling ADSL.
Proper operation guarantee is not applicable to provision of service to button phones or single lines for PBX reception.
Routers cannot be connected (bridge connection) to the modem used for this service. Furthermore, since this modem has a built-in splitter, door phones, home telephones and CS Pay Per View may not be usable. Additionally, by purchasing a "splitter" separately, the customer may use these functions in some cases. For details, contact the company providing such functions.

The Internet connection service contract through this subscription is based on KDDI Corporation's Internet Connection Service Contract Conditions, Terms of Use regarding Rental Services such as Terminal Equipment, Partner ADSL Connection Provider's ADSL Service Contract Conditions, and NTT East/NTT West's Special Services Contract Conditions.
Upon subscribing to this service, the partner ADSL connection provider or NTT East/NTT West may contact the customer or send notice letters to the customer.
Although the service area is the same as that for the Metal Plus telephone service, the service is not available in some areas. Please be sure to check the areas where the service is offered before subscription.
Even if the customer's residence is within the service area and the results of NTT compatibility verification are positive, the service may still be unavailable depending on the situation of lines.
Our company will rent the modem used for this service. Other modems cannot be used.

* When a customer currently using a DION ADSL course switches over to this service, the modem must be changed.
