Today's companies commonly encounter situations such as exchanging important files containing personal information with external business affiliates, or sharing confidential information related to a joint project with a partner firm. Such situations highlight the need for taking security measures to prevent leakage of valuable information.
KDDI Secure Share is an ASP-type secure file exchange service, which not only tackles the problem of security but also makes file-sharing more convenient for customers. For instance, we offer a ubiquitous security arrangement that can be used anywhere so long as an Internet connection is available, that makes it possible to specify who can gain access, at both file and folder levels. We also meet high-end security requirements by encrypting the files not just on the Internet, but also on the KDDI Secure Share server.

This is a thorough security function intended for corporate use. Files exchanged are firmly encrypted, and are not decodable by anyone except designated members, not even by the system administrator.

This service can be used like a virtual network drive from the Windows Explorer, so in addition to the drag-and-drop function, direct editing of encrypted files on the KDDI Secure Share server is possible. This does away with the inconvenience of having to download the files onto a local computer (see Note).
