au offers an altogether new type of discount service to help people enjoy their smartphones even more. "au Smart Value" offers customers discounts of ¥1,480 on monthly charges for smartphone use for up to two years (including tax) when customers apply for au smartphone and fixed-line broadband service together. In addition to the "au HIKARI" and "au HIKARI Chura", access is available via "Commuf@-hikari" and "eo HIKARI"—offered by allied fiber-optic communication services operators—and 126 stations throughout Japan operated by 47 allied CATV operators (as of the end of July 2012) including JCN and J:COM. This arrangement allows all members of the family to enjoy the advantages of au smartphones.

Using the "KDDI Collective Billing Service," "au Collective Talk" allows customers to communicate anywhere in Japan via the "au Home Phone" (excluding MYLINE) to au mobile phones, au smartphones and other "au Home Phones" (excluding MYLINE) free of charge, 24 hours a day. Customers can also place calls free of charge around the clock from au mobile phones and au smartphones to their "au Home Phone" (excluding MYLINE) by using the "au --> My Home Discount." Through services such as these, KDDI is providing telephone communications at a lower cost than ever.

The "AtermBL900HW," a giga home gateway device, offers high-speed wireless communications with the fastest communications in Japan—up to 450Mbps. With a wireless LAN base unit and USB ports, this device enables customers to easily connect game consoles and network-compatible AV equipment. Users can also share data files via USB memory and enjoy themselves in a variety of other ways.
