KDDI's EZ Memory Pocket Service To Enable Creation of Original Albums from Photos and Videos Taken on Mobile Phones

2003/05/14

Tokyo, May 14, 2003—KDDI Corp. and Okinawa Cellular have announced that they will provide an EZ Memory Pocket service starting from early July this year. This service will enable users to create and edit original albums from photo and video data saved on EZweb—data that cannot be saved directly on a mobile phone itself—and the service will also allow anybody to view these albums.

Mobile phones users are seeing a rapid advance in photographic functions, such as the incorporation of high-quality cameras as well as Photo Mail and Movie Mail compatibility. As a result, these users have a growing need to access secure locations in order to save captured image data and to enjoy a new form of communication that utilizes such data. The new EZ Memory Pocket service provides this capability to mobile phone users.

Furthermore, by accessing the EZ Memory Pocket website, it is possible to use various services that can usually only be enjoyed with a digital camera. For example, thanks to links with content provided by other companies, users can create print seals and highly detailed personal seals from images taken on their mobile phones. KDDI will continue to cooperate with service content providers in order to add new functions to its services.

More detailed information is provided in a separate report.
