KDDI to launch A1305SA as Part of New Lineup of 3G Cellular Phones

KDDI and Okinawa Cellular are pleased to announce the launch of the A1305SA (manufactured by Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd.) in mid-June 2004. As part of a new lineup of third generation cellular phones (CDMA 1X) that enable high-speed data communications at a maximum rate of 144 kbps.
The distinctive features of the A1305SA are its smooth and compact form (width of 47mm, height of 92mm, and depth of 24mm), which comfortably fits the hand, and the use of gradation color with soft, beautiful color tones on the upper panel.
Furthermore, without having to perform prior application procedures, you can use voice roaming services in 12 countries and regions, as the handset is compatible with "Global Passport", the international roaming service that can be utilized not only in Japan, but also overseas. For overseas use, the handset is equipped with extensive English-Japanese and Japanese-English dictionary functions as well as English, Chinese, and Korean conversation functions.
As a 3G cellular phone compatible with Global Passport, KDDI announced in March the A5505SA (manufactured by Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd.), which is compatible with international data roaming services in South Korea. Now, with the upcoming launch of the standard-type A1305SA, which is easy to use, KDDI will extend its lineup to enable customers to a handset that suits their particular use.
