KDDI Announces Improved Rates for 001 Overseas Mobile Talk Service
KDDI is pleased to announce reduced call rates averaging 8.6 percent for its 001 Overseas Mobile Talk discount call service available for mobile and PHS phone users. The new rates come into effect on June 15.
The standard 001 Overseas Call service sets rates according to the time of day (weekdays, evenings, and night), with charges also differing between the first minute and all additional minutes. Charges are calculated in six-second segments. In contrast, the 001 Overseas Mobile Talk service is much simpler, charging the same rate in one-minute segments for any time of day. The service offers significant savings for frequent daytime callers to Asian countries where time differences are short.
Users of mobile and PHS phones who apply for the new service before Sept. 1 will also benefit from a premium of ¥1,000 worth of free calls.
