KDDI Announces Three New CDMA 1X WIN Models
Further Advances for "WIN" Broadband Mobile Phones
KDDI and Okinawa Cellular are pleased to announce the release of a new lineup of fixed-rate-packet-service CDMA 1X WIN handsets from the end of August this year. The models, to be released sequentially, include the "W21SA" (from Sanyo Electric), the "W21S" (from Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications) and the "W21K" (from Kyocera Corp.).
All models in this release will include mega-pixel or higher cameras and will support EZ Appli (BREW™) software. Also firsts for CDMA 1X WIN, models with 'EZ Navi Walk' and FM radio tuners will be included.
The new CDMA 1X WIN models have been designed for even more enjoyable visuals, music and other enriched content by upgrading the following functions:

'Macromedia Flash™' support has been added, allowing revitalization of the EZweb menus. Flash's rich graphical expressive power makes them more fun and easier to use. An added benefit, public 'Flash™' content will also now be available to EZweb users.

Rich applications of up to 600KB in size such as the popular role playing games "Dragon Quest" and "Final Fantasy" (from Square Enix) can now be made available as EZ Appli (BREW™) applications.

'EZ Navi Walk' has a new interface with customizable character graphics and voices, making it even more fun and useful.

The hugely popular 'Chaku Uta®' is now available in stereo. On stereo, twin-speaker-equipped models, the new high fidelity EZ 'Chaku Uta®' (Stereo version) feels like it's a live performance! All new models also feature the 'AAC Codec' for high-quality sound reproduction.

With CDMA 1X WIN, unlimited use of EZweb and E-mail is only 4200 yen per month (4410 yen including sales tax). From August 1, the 'EZ Flat' rate will be revised to a new double-fixed-rate system, making it easier to enjoy our rich content. The new rate starts at 2000 yen per month (2100 yen incl. tax) and increases with use to a maximum of 4200 yen per month (4410 yen incl. tax).
