KDDI Launches "PC Site Viewer" for au Mobile Phones, Enables Users to View Websites Intended for Personal Computers

KDDI and Okinawa Cellular are pleased to announce "PC Site Viewer" for select models of the 3G mobile telephone CDMA 1X WIN in 2004. This service enables users to view web sites intended for personal computers. The PC Site Viewer will come equipped with the Internet browser "Opera Browser," made by Opera Software ASA (based in Oslo, Norway; CEO: Jon S. von Tetzchner).
In addition to EZweb, which provides access to appealing contents such as EZ Chaku-Uta® and EZ Navi Walk, this new PC Site Viewer makes it easy for users to view search sites, message boards and other web sites that are usually accessed through personal computers. WIN ensures high-speed packet transmission at a maximum of 2.4Mbps.
The PC Site Viewer is not an unlimited-use service, but KDDI has revised the various packet transmission discount services as of December 1, 2004 to make it easier for customers to utilize EZ Web, email and PC Site Viewer.
