NS Solutions and KDDI Begin Collaboration on Communications Network and Systems Construction Between Japan and China and Within China

NS Solutions Co., Ltd., a member of the Nippon Steel Group, and KDDI Corporation have announced that from March the two companies will collaborate on communications network and systems construction for Japanese enterprise customers, both between Japan and China and within China. NS Solutions and KDDI will share their capabilities and know-how, and substantially reinforce their support for Japanese companies that are developing business in China.
With the full-fledged entry of many Japanese companies into the Chinese market, primarily in the manufacturing sector, a need for communications network and systems construction linking manufacturing centers, both between Japan and China and within China, is rapidly growing. The Chinese communications infrastructure for constructing such systems remains underdeveloped, however, and bureaucratic procedures involved are complicated. As a result, construction takes a long time, and there is an increasing need for "one-stop service" provision for communications network and systems construction.
To respond to this need, NS Solutions, which has a proven record in the construction, operation, and maintenance of all kinds of systems, especially infrastructure, and KDDI, which likewise has a proven record in communication network and data center operation, will collaborate. The two companies will offer Japanese enterprise customers comprehensive solutions that include consulting, engineering, operation, and maintenance regarding communications network and systems construction.
NS Solutions set up a China Business Promotion Team and established NS Solutions Software (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. as a local subsidiary in September 2002. In this way, NS Solutions has been making arrangements to provide comprehensive support for Japanese companies entering the Chinese market, from construction to operation and maintenance, throughout a system's lifecycle. Meanwhile, KDDI provides consulting and engineering for communications network construction, as well as data center operation and maintenance services. KDDI is currently the biggest overseas telecom company in China, with offices in eight Chinese cities and provinces, and has a track record in the construction of communication networks throughout China.
