KDDI Announces High-performance W31S Audio Handset Addition to CDMA-1X WIN Line-up <Attachment>
In addition to the popular EZ Chaku-Uta Full™ service and interactive FM radio capability, the W31S enables music from users' CDs to be imported and played using the music management software SonicStage Ver. 3.0 [1] supplied with the handset. The new handset can also replay tracks downloaded from Internet music download services for PCs [2], multimedia terminals at convenience stores, and other download services. JOY by YUKI (short version) is also preset for EZ Chaku-Uta Full™.

The W31S includes an equalizer capability for setting the user's preferred effects and quality, and a "BGM Play" capability that enables the user to write and exchange mail and browse EZweb while listening to music. The W31S also has built-in hi-fidelity stereo surround speakers. By connecting the handset to the table-top holder supplied with it, users can enjoy a convenient, high-quality home audio experience. Using the music controller with mike and the stereo headphones supplied with the handset, users can enjoy portable audio. The music controller with mike has a built-in mike and incoming call switch. Users can take calls quickly even while listening to music.

The built-in W31S camera has an effective pixel count of 2.01 million, and offers Scene Selection capability with a range of photo modes, plus video. The camera also has built-in Luminous Engine™ for compensating dark parts of photos taken under poor conditions, such as against the sun, a sliding handset with large QVGA display, and an easy-to-read monitor screen that makes the handset feel like a digital camera in use.

SonicStage Ver. 3.0 is compatible with the audio compression formats ATRAC3plus/ATRAC3/WAV/MP3 (32-320 kbps)/WMA. Using SonicStage Ver. 3.0, data is converted to ATRAC3, and transmitted to a Magic Gate-compatible Memory Stick Duo card (sold separately), with capacity up to 128 MB. |
