KDDI Announces the A1405PT, the Smallest, Lightest 3G Handset to Join au Model Line-up

KDDI and Okinawa Cellular are pleased to announce the addition of the A1405PT, manufactured by Pantech & Curitel Communications, to the au line-up of 3G CDMA 1X handsets. The A1405PT will become the smallest, lightest folding 3G cell-phone in the range. This "simple, smart" phone features a flat design with no protruding parts, outstanding ease of use, and advanced capabilities.
Pantech & Curitel is a Korean manufacturer whose handsets are especially popular among younger people. The company constitutes the core of the Pantech Group, which is growing rapidly, and currently ranks second in Korea in terms of handset shipments.
The A1405PT is the first handset co-developed for the Japanese market by Pantech & Curitel and KDDI. In addition to the Pantech & Curitel product characteristics of compactness and high quality, this model is well adapted to the needs of Japanese customers.
The A1405PT will be available nationwide from late November.
