KDDI Announces PC Site Viewer Enabled Handset Subscriptions Exceed Ten Million

KDDI Corporation

2007/03/22

KDDI and Okinawa Cellular are pleased to announce that subscriptions for au handsets that support PC Site Viewer, provided by KDDI, exceeded 10 million on March 20.

au launched PC Site Viewer, which enables viewing of PC Web sites on mobile handsets, ahead of other companies in December 2004. In May 2005, PC Site Viewer was included in a packet flat-rate option enabling unlimited use of PC Site Viewer, EZweb, and e-mail for 5,700 yen per month (5,985 yen inc. tax), making it even easier to use. In addition, searching and accessing PC Web sites has been simplified by integrating PC Site Viewer with the Google search engine, a service KDDI introduced in July 2006. From this spring's handset line-up forward, additional features will be added to make mobile Web viewing more like using a PC, such as providing wide VGA screens and Flash support.
