KDDI 'One Seg' Mobile Phones Exceed 5 Million

KDDI and Okinawa Cellular are pleased to announce that users of 'one seg' compatible au mobile phones exceeded 5 million on August 16, 2007.

Phones compatible with 'one seg' include the W54T, W53T, W53SA, W52T, W52SH, W52SA, MEDIA SKIN, W52H, W52CA, W51T, AQUOS mobile phone W51SH, W51SA, W51K, W51CA, W44S, W43SA, W43HII,W43H, W41H, W33SAII, and W33SA.

'one seg,' a digital terrestrial broadcast service for mobile devices, enables users to enjoy clear videos and sounds as well as to use data broadcast, which allows them to receive various types of information on programs. A service unique to au, which plays music and works with GPS, 'one seg' lets users not only listen to programs but interactively enjoy TV.

KDDI began sales of 'one seg'-compatible au mobile phones on December 16, 2005, beating other mobile providers to become the first company to offer terrestrial digital television broadcasting to mobile phones and other mobile terminals.
