KDDI Introduces 24-hour Free Domestic Calls to Family Members Subscribing to au 'Family Discount' and 'Everybody Discount'

KDDI and Okinawa Cellular have announced the introduction of free calls to family members subscribing to the au 'Family Discount' in combination with the 'Everybody Discount' or 'Smile-heart Discount.' Currently the discount rate for calls between family members is 30% for 'Family Discount' users and 50% for 'Smile-heart Discount' users. The new service will begin on March 1.
By combining 'Family Discount' and 'Everybody Discount,' subscribers have enjoyed discounted basic fees from the first year [1] of subscription to au mobile phone. In addition, subscribers have also enjoyed both discounted calls and free C-mail between family members, which have proven very popular.
KDDI hopes the new service providing 24-hour free domestic calls to family members will increase the convenience for au 'Family Discount' subscribers even further.
Discount rate for the TV Phone calls to family members subscribing to the au 'Family Discount' in combination with the 'Everybody Discount' or 'Smile-heart Discount' will also be expanded to 60% from the current rate of 30% (the current rate for 'Smile-heart Discount' subscribers is 50%).
In addition, corporate subscribers combining the 'Business Discount' plan with 'Everybody Discount,' will enjoy free calls and TV Phone service discounts of 60% to the employees who subscribe to the same group of 'Business Discount'
