European KDDI Group company TELEHOUSE EUROPE will soon open its third data center, on the outskirts of Paris. Services at the new center, "TELEHOUSE PARIS Magny", will be offered beginning on Sunday, March 1, 2009.
Meanwhile, Korean KDDI Group company PRISM will be renaming its data center in Seoul to "TELEHOUSE SEOUL" as of Wednesday, April 1, 2009.
TELEHOUSE PARIS Magny is the largest data-center facility in France, with floor space of 15,000 square meters on a 66,000 square-meter property. The site has excellent security, occupying a former defense-industry site that has been redeveloped. It makes use of the newest security systems including biometric authentication and 3D face-recognition in addition to 24-hour, 365-day-a-year security patrols. These ensure comprehensive security for ICT assets entrusted to the center by our customers.
Redundant architecture is standard for infrastructure equipment, with power drawn from multiple generating facilities in addition to uninterruptable power supplies (UPS) and private power generating equipment to protect against power outages. Preventative equipment such as a predictive fire sensing system is also used. Each rack is supplied with power at a standard 3 kVA and capable of handling 6 kVA peaks, so recent requirements for high power consumption can be accommodated easily. The facility also takes environmental factors into consideration, using outside air for cooling and recycling rain water.
The data center provided by PRISM in Seoul, Korea has also been built according to TELEHOUSE quality guidelines, and will be renamed TELEHOUSE SEOUL as of Wednesday, April 1, 2009.
With the addition of these two centers, TELEHOUSE has a total of 13 international facilities.
Since initiating services in the USA in 1989 and the UK in 1990, TELEHOUSE has provided service to many European and American, in addition to Japanese Corporations, including carriers, ISPs, and Internet exchanges, and has received excellent evaluations.
Through construction of the largest new facility in France, KDDI is strengthening its ability to meet growing global demand for ICT outsourcing and support for Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP).
The KDDI Group is concentrating our accumulated technology and operational know-how to support our customers' global businesses with the utmost safety and security through our TELEHOUSE data-center services.
