Introducing au's Android smartphone "htc EVO WiMAX ISW11HT"

KDDI Corporation and Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company will release "htc EVO WiMAX ISW11HT" (manufactured by HTC Corporation), the first WiMAX compatible Android smartphone, after first half of April, 2011.

"htc EVO WiMAX ISW11HT" has WiMAX communication function that allows up to 40Mbps data downlink speed. It is a "+WiMAX" compatible smartphone that enables fast internet connection such as quick downloading of rich contents including videos. It also has "Wi-Fi tethering" function to serve as a wireless LAN router. Up to eight wireless LAN compatible devices such as portable game players and note PCs can be connected to the Internet. With Android 2.2, it offers comfortable maneuvering and viewing of Flash® web pages.

The model can be used with the pricing plan for smartphone and the maximum limit of packet flat rate plan. "+WiMAX" monthly usage fee of 525 yen (including tax) is charged in the month where customer used WiMAX [1] To allow many customers to use the service, KDDI will offer a special campaign to deduct "+WiMAX" monthly fees of usage in the period between the release of "htc EVO WiMAX ISW11HT" and August, 2011.
