Establishment of KDDI Myanmar

December 12, 2012

KDDI will establish an overseas affiliate company in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (hereinafter referred to as "Myanmar"), called "KDDI Myanmar" (Tentative), in January 2013. This overseas affiliate company is established through the investment of KDDI and its subsidiary, KDDI Singapore.
The establishment of KDDI Myanmar brings the total number of KDDI Group overseas sites to 100, with locations in 58 cities in 26 regions around the world.

Although Myanmar is experiencing a rapid move toward democracy and a growing influx of foreign companies, there is currently a lack of offices that are adequately equipped for business. KDDI Myanmar will operate the "KDDI Myanmar Business Center" in the center of Myanmar's largest city of Yangon, providing office space with IT infrastructure and maintenance/operation services to support rapid business launches in Myanmar.
For businesses launching their own facilities in Myanmar, KDDI Myanmar will offer Japanese-quality network construction and ICT infrastructure support services, provided by Japanese citizens or proficient Japanese speakers.

In the future, as Japanese companies move into and expand operations in Myanmar, KDDI will strive to meet the various communications needs of customers, further strengthen its system for providing a wide range of solution services, and continue to expand and enhance its bases of operation around the world.

Refer to the Attachment for an overview of KDDI Myanmar.
