Global launch of KDDI Cloud Platform Service
— Cloud platform service that enables simple connection to global network —

August 30, 2013

From September 2, 2013, KDDI will gradually begin providing the KDDI Cloud Platform Service in Asia, the United States, and Europe.

The KDDI Cloud Platform Service, which was launched in Japan in July 2012, is a service where a customer is capable of utilizing a cloud platform as a public cloud or private cloud via the internet or an intranet based on their requirements. In addition, a variety of server configurations are available to meet a wide range of needs, including private and custom configurations, as well as inexpensive virtual server configurations.

With the global launch of this service, it is now possible to use the KDDI global network in combination with customer systems installed in TELEHOUSE data centers in a manner that meet a customer's needs. Furthermore, this service has one-stop contracting for a standardized cloud platform [1] enabling customers to quickly construct systems in conjunction with their global expansion, and also contributing to the strengthening of system governance across national borders. The construction, operation, and maintenance of customer systems are supported by on-site KDDI engineers so customers can use this service in a safe and secure environment.
