KDDI TO START OFFERING A NEW MENU FOR THE FIREWALL OPERATION MANAGEMENT SERVICE 'FIREWALL-1(VPN-1(R)/FireWall-1(R))' |
Tokyo, Japan, May 31 - KDDI said it will combine its CheckPoint Software Technologies' FIREWALL-1(VPN-1(R)/FireWall-1(R)) 1 rental service and 24-hour long distance operation management into its 'FIREWALL-1(VPN-1(R)/FireWall-1(R))'.
From June 1 2001, KDDI will be increasing the options on the range of firewall services in response to calls for greater Internet Security. The spread of the internet and electronic commerce and the corresponding spread of illegal access and net-related crimes has accelerated the need for improved security measures, especially firewalls.
Until now KDDI has been offering 'Firewall Operation Management Service (VPN-1(R)/FireWall-1(R))' in which the KDDI operates and manages 'Firewall-1' 24-hours a day remotely.
KDDI uses the highly reliable NOKIA IP Security Series as the exclusive server for VPN-1(R)/FireWall-1(R), so customers don't need to arrange for installation of another server. The 'Firewall Operation Management Service' also includes a system that compensates users for any damage caused by illegal access, and will post the results of firewall logs on customers' web sites. This new service menu will make an all- in-one firewall service. KDDI also responds fully to customer needs ranging from 'security monitoring services', constantly monitoring illegal network access, and 'security policy construction support service', diagnosing the status of customer security.
