Tokyo, July 19, 2001 - KDDI Corp. announced that today it submitted details of its 'au to home' service to the Minister for General Affairs.

The 'au to home' service will, from September this year, allow users of KDDI's au wireless service to call their home number (1*) for about half the usual call rate, if they have registered with KDDI's Myline Plus for more than three categories; within their prefecture, outside their city and outside their prefecture.

The service does not require any special application procedure. au will automatically start the discount service the month (2*) after au confirms that users have registered their home phone number with Myline Plus for more than three categories.

KDDI has been offering a 'KDDI Discount Set' since October 2000 for mobile phones and fixed line phones, though the discount service for mobile phone calling rate is the first of Japanese telecom industry.

In order to promote Myline, KDDI has offered the set discount for mobile and fixed-line phones to create synergies that will differentiate Myline and au from services offered by other companies, and will accelerate the adoption of more users.

1* 'Home phone number' is the fixed-line number that au subscribers registered with au.
2* Will confirm within one month after the application of Myline.
