KDDI Expands Coverage of GLOBAL PASSPORT to Guam,
and Provides "au Mobile Express" International Rental Service

Tokyo, October 21, 2002 - KDDI Corp. and Okinawa Cellular, in cooperation with Guamcellular and Paging Inc., will begin offering GLOBAL PASSPORT - an international roaming service that enables au mobile phones to be used for domestic as well as overseas calls - on the island of Guam as of October 25 (tentative).

The addition of Guam to the GLOBAL PASSPORT coverage area means the service is now available in 57 cities and regions in the United States, including the four islands of Hawaii, enabling "international roaming" for about 60% of the travelers going overseas from Japan*.

In addition, "au Mobile Express" services will be offered starting today through a collaboration with KCOM Corp., also a member of the KDDI Group. "au Mobile Express" is an international rental service that enables mobile phones to be used in about 100 countries and regions, including Europe, where GLOBAL PASSPORT is not currently available.
