KDDI Signs Memorandum of Understanding for the Provision of the International High Speed Ethernet Services with KT Corporation |

Tokyo, Japan, January 24, 2003 - KDDI (TSE: 9433), Japan's second largest
telecommunications carrier, concluded a memorandum of understanding with KT Corporation ("KT") which is designed to provide the international high speed Ethernet services between Japan and Korea from the summer of this year. KT is the biggest telecommunications carrier in Korea providing telephone, data and Internet services. KDDI and KT plan to connect "KDDI Ether-VPN" service and "KT Ethernet VLAN Service" and to provide the international high speed Ethernet services between Japan and Korea. The high speed Ethernet services is mainly used for construction of the high-speed data network of companies, and progressing quickly in recent years. This connection enables KDDI and KT to provide the seamless international high-speed Ethernet services on customers for the companies which have offices in Japan and Korea. KDDI and KT continue further discussion towards mutual cooperation about various services, such as solution service.
