KDDI: Number of Movie Mail Mobile
Phone Users Tops One Million

Tokyo, March 13, 2003 -- KDDI Corp. and Okinawa Cellular announced today that on Monday, March 9 the cumulative number of Movie Mail-compatible handset users surpassed the one million mark. Movie Mail is a service offered by the two companies that allows users to take seamless movies of up to 15 seconds and send them as email attachments. It was launched in conjunction with the A5301T handset in September 2002, and more than a million users have signed up in just six months.
Currently, there are four varieties of Movie Mail mobile phones on the market, the A5301T, A5302CA, A5303H and A5304T. The total will be brought to six when the new A1301S and A1302SA go on sale this month. The two companies also have plans to make even more phones compatible with Movie Mail, including standard 1000 Series handsets, all in an effort to allow even more users to go beyond the already popular photo function and enrich their communication experience with movies.
