KDD (Kokusai Denshin Denwa Co., Ltd., main office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, president: Tadashi Nishimoto) and Teleway (Teleway Corp., main office: Taito-ku, Tokyo, president: Kan Higashi) reached an agreement today on business collaboration.

The agreement calls for the two companies to provide and market joint international-domestic telephone resale service through KDD Teleserve, Inc. and Teleway Service Corp., and to mutually promote each other's leased circuit service on a joint international-domestic basis, by unifying customer service for contracts, billing, and maintenance and operation.

KDD and Teleway will begin the collaboration under this agreement as soon as possible.

The agreement will allow KDD and Teleway to better satisfy the service needs of their customers. For example, customers may apply for services offered by both carriers through either carrier, receive a single bill for both international and long-distance domestic calls, and take advantage of various discount services offered by the two companies.

KDD and Teleway will each market the leased circuit service offered by the other carrier. At the same time, the two companies will enhance customer convenience by offering a single contact that caters to customer requirements for service contracts, payment of bill, and operation and maintenance.

KDD and Teleway will also consider interconnecting their networks to offer joint international-domestic telephone and leased circuit services and study the feasibility of jointly constructing facilities that are of mutual benefit.
