No matter how the technology is excellent, it cannot be used by customers under the conditions of a lab. Will it be economical? Will it be reliable? And will it be stably operated? A newborn technology has to clear a variety of criteria. Some technologies may have to be combined with other base technologies into a system before tapping their potential. In short, the results of cutting-edge research must be "matured" before they can be actually used in a commercial service. Therefore, we must go through a process from the development and evaluation of each technology to design, construction, and system integration.
At KDDI, the research labs and the headquarters' technical division are making a concerted effort to actively develop technologies for next generation commercial services.
