Add-on services

KDDI provides various add-on services to enable customers to use Cable-plus Phone at home more conveniently.
Paid services cost ¥100 or more. Application for these services can be made easily online.

Call-waiting (Catch phone)Pay

When you receive a call from another person during the call, you can put your first call on hold and answer the second one.

If your telephone equipment supports the number display function, a caller's phone number is shown on the display of your telephone equipment.

When you receive a call from a phone number registered to the nuisance call blocking service, the call is refused with a voice message to tell a caller that you cannot receive the call.

This function enables you to activate/deactivate the caller ID notification as default. The setting can be changed free of charge.

Notes

  • Incoming number display (Number display)
    • A phone number can be displayed only when a caller has activated the caller ID notification.
    • A phone number cannot be displayed if a call is made from a foreign country, a public phone, or in the out-of-service area.
  • Caller ID request (Number request)
    • Application for the "Incoming number display" service is required.
    • A phone number cannot be displayed if a call is made from a foreign country, a public phone, or in the out-of-service area.
    • This function can be set only with a touch-tone phone.
    • "Caller ID request" is activated at the time of making a contract.
    • After application, you dial number 148 from contract line, so you active function according to guidance.
  • Call-waiting number display (Catch phone display)
    • Application for the "Call-waiting" and "Incoming number display" services is required.
    • A phone number can be displayed only when a caller has activated the caller ID notification.
    • A phone number cannot be displayed if a call is made from a foreign country, a public phone, or in the out-of-service area.
  • Nuisance call blocking (Nuisance call blocking service)
    • Monthly charges are incurred regardless of whether the function is activated or deactivated.
    • This function can be set only with a touch-tone phone.
    • When you register the 31st phone number as nuisance phone numbers, the nuisance call blocking setting of the 1st phone number is cancelled.
  • Call forwarding
    • Monthly charges are incurred regardless of whether the function is activated or deactivated. Depending on the type of telecommunications equipment, this service may be unavailable, or the setting should be modified.
    • This function can be set only with a touch-tone phone if you want to set it via a telephone line.
    • The following numbers cannot be registered as forwarding destination: 3-digit numbers such as 110 and 104, 0120-…, 0800-…, 050-… (some numbers), numbers starting with 00XX, numbers starting with #, numbers for a message service*, international phone numbers.
    • When you would like to forward a call to a mobile phone, you cannot register a mobile phone number along with a service supplier identification number (e.g. 0077) as a prefix.
    • When using the call forwarding service, it takes longer for a caller to reach the forwarding destination than normal calls.
    • Calling charges are separately incurred for a portion between a caller and the forwarding origination, and a portion between the forwarding origination and the forwarding destination (a Cable-plus Phone user is charged for the latter, while a caller is charged for the former).
    • If you would like to forward a forwarded call to another destination when it reaches the forwarding destination, the speech quality cannot be guaranteed (such a call may not be forwarded accurately). A callee at the final destination is charged for a portion between the forwarding destination and another destination.
    • If you register an au mobile phone number as the forwarding destination and a Cable-plus Phone number as the au mobile phone's forwarding destination, you may fail to receive a call because the call will be repeatedly forwarded. Please be aware of this when you register a phone number for forwarding destinations.
    • When you set scheduled forwarding function, please you register on the Self Page. Please note that this function cannot be configured with a phone.
    • In some cases, a caller's phone number is displayed on phone equipment at the forwarding destination.

Unavailable add-on services

The following services are unavailable.

Communications functions & services ISDN When you are currently using INS64, please be aware of the following:
  • In this service, ISDN functions are unavailable.
  • 2ch is unavailable. This service is provided with 1ch (line).
  • You cannot use ISDN dedicated phones or ISDN dedicated terminal.
  • DSU and TA should be removed.
  • You cannot use ISDN subaddress calling (add "*" after dialing a callee's phone number), etc.
G4 FAX transmission/Super G3 FAX transmission You can use most G3 FAX services.
L-mode You can still use a standard call service using an L-mode terminal as is.
Packet communications  
User-To-User Information (UUI) notification  
Off talk communication service (e.g. local governments' disaster prevention broadcasting using phone lines) If you are currently using one of these services, or you are not sure about it, contact your service provider (e.g. gas company, security company) on your own. In some cases, you may be charged regardless of whether you use the service or not.

  • KDDI's phone usage contract and discount services are also automatically cancelled (excluding some services such as "Kakedoku Pack").
    However, if you switch a discount service such as DANZEN TALK II to the Cable-plus Phone service with the same phone number through the number portability, a 25% discount will be applied to the usage amount of international calls using a KDDI card charged to this phone number.
iFAX As basic charges may be incurred, please complete the cancellation procedure.
α-E mail This service is automatically cancelled.
Token dial  
  • If you apply for the Number Portability, NTT East/NTT West's add-on services, discount services, FLET'S ISDN, FLET'S ADSL will be automatically cancelled.
  • If you would like to keep a phone number charged for B FLET'S through the number portability, a bill for B FLET'S will be separately issued by NTT East/NTT West in addition to a phone bill.
  • Some services which are not listed above may be unavailable for use. Contact your CATV company, if you have any questions.
