Because charges are calculated on a per-minute basis, Japan Direct services are less expensive than those of operator-assisted calls outbound from Japan. Rates are also cheaper than going through a local overseas operator to place collect calls.
When you place Japan Direct Calls using commercial credit card, charges are billed in the following month you placed the call.

When you are making a person-to-person Japan Direct call specifying a person you wish to talk with there will be no charge until the person comes on the telephone. In addition, if your party is unavailable at that time you may leave a message that you have called him/her. |

First, dial the Japan Direct Number (Access Number) specified for use in the country you are staying.

Station-to-Station call that is connected to the number you specify. You can place Station-to-Station calls when you are using your credit card. |
