KDD to Reduce International Direct Dialing and Other Rates

KDD submitted a notification to the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications today to reduce rates for International Direct Dialing (IDD) calls. New rates are to be brought into effect on February 1.

The areas applied to the reduction this time are frequently called 17 areas, and the discount charges are subject to the reduction.

Outline of the reduction is as follows.
1. Areas: China, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, East Timor, Hong Kong, Macao, Australia, U.K., Brazil, Germany, France, Andorra, Monaco (17 areas)
2. Average reduction: 1.4%
3. Maximum reduction: 57.9%
* The rate for a 3-minute call to Brazil during the discount hours: 570 yen → 240 yen
