KDD Australia Launches Telephone Services

[Press Release 1999-009] February 25, 1999

KDD Australia Pty. Ltd., a 100% subsidiary of KDD, will start to provide its domestic long-distance and international telephone services in Australia from March 1, which is a part of the "KDD Global Network" project being executed in a joint effort by KDD and its foreign subsidiaries in the world's major markets.
The services are intended to attract a broad range of customers, especially in Japanese business communities, with competitive pricing including some 60% saving for a weekday call to Japan compared with major local carriers.
KDD Australia will be the first among Asian telecommunications carriers to provide telephone services in Australia.

On February 1 this year, KDD Australia started its international leased circuit service under the brand of "Globridge" among six other KDD Group companies including KDD.
The expansion of its business to include telephone services this time will allow the company to deliver its inexpensive and convenient telecommunication services to a wider variety of customers ranging from business to residential users.

KDD Australia will continue to try to enrich its services by adding pre-paid calling card and other service features to meet varied customer needs.
