KDD to Launch an End-to-End Type Frame Relay Service
in Tie-up with SingTel

[Press Release 1999-010] February 25, 1999

KDD and Singapore Telecom (SingTel) agreed today to establish a tie-up to launch an end-to-end type frame relay service between Japan and Singapore.

This new service, in which unlike the conventional frame relay service, the frame relay switch of the same type is used by KDD and SingTel enables customers to use a seamless and high-quality frame relay service. A yen-denominated end-to-end fixed-rate charge including the cost for the international circuit portion on the Singapore side is applicable to the service.
In addition, with this service customers can enjoy the one-stop billing that allows lump-sum payment, as well as the one-stop shopping that serves as the sole contact point for all applications relating to the entire network. KDD plans to start it on April 1 this year.

As a part of the "KDD Global Network" project KDD has already been providing the end-to-end frame relay service with the United States (KDD America) and the United Kingdom (KDD Europe), and Singapore is the third service area to which KDD provides the service.
With SingTel, KDD has also been providing the leased circuit service using the KDD Global Network since September 1, 1997.

KDD and SingTel have so far built up a close relationship to serve Japan and Singapore, two large business footholds in the Asian region, and taking this opportunity the two companies are determined to further promote it in order to meet versatile needs of customers.

This information is to be released by SingTel in Singapore on the same day.
