Route KDD is a service that provides both domestic and international telephone calls at economical rates by connecting customers' terminals such as PBX to KDD's exchange by dedicated circuits. With this reduction, rates covering all the distance zones will be lowered by up to 20 % for local calls, and by up to about 35 % for long distance calls. Coupled with the introduction of "neighboring area", it enables customers to use "Route KDD" less expensively than ever for calls to all the areas including those within the city limits. The new rates for the service are shown on the following page.

Furthermore, KDD plans to introduce the minimum charge system of 5yen per call for domestic calls via "Route KDD", as well as for 001 long distance calls. The new rate system for "Route KDD" will take effect on November 1, concurrently with that for 001 long distance calls, to take into consideration the period necessary for customers to become aware of the change.

"Route KDD" offers substantial charging advantage since the service adopts the Hudson Method by which calls are charged in units of six seconds as is the case with KDD's international and 001 domestic long distance services. This enables corporate customers with large numbers of relatively short-time calls, in particular, to make telephone calls more economically.

KDD will further improve and strengthen its service lineup so that customers may find KDD's services more attractive.
