On February 8, 2021, KDDI Corporation invested in Psychic VR Lab Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Masahiro Yamaguchi; hereinafter "Psychic VR Lab"), which operates "STYLY," a platform for creating and distributing VR, AR, MR, and other XR content via Web browsers, through the "KDDI Open Innovation Fund 3" (KOIF III), operated by Global Brain Corporation for the purpose of co-creating new businesses with promising venture companies.

Through the provision of a free XR content creation tool and "STYLY," a creative platform for creating and distributing XR content via Web browsers, Psychic VR Lab promotes the development of an environment that allows all artists to create XR content and an XR interface for art, fashion, and other lifestyle domains. Psychic VR Lab also jointly plans and develops a range of XR content in partnership with KDDI, including the "Virtual Shibuya" MR content in the "Shibuya 5G Entertainment Project" as well as the AR Christmas tree at the concept shop "GINZA 456 Created by KDDI."

Through this investment, KDDI supports the expansion of the "STYLY" platform by actively using Psychic VR Lab's XR techniques in KDDI's XR-related businesses and promotes the development of new businesses using XR, such as media transformation of urban spaces by means of XR together with Psychic VR Lab.

As a "company the closest and most familiar to customers," KDDI will promote business co-creation through investing in promising startups and co-create new business models with customers and partners.
