About "ezplus"


1.Main features
(1) Runs the industry's largest application program
Runs applet's of 50 kilobytes, the industry's largest
Displays contents with high resolution picture quality
(2) Real-time communication function:
Handsets running ezplus use c-mail "Oshaberi (CHAT) Mode" for high-speed communication
(3) Mobile agent function installed in a mobile phone for the first time:
By utilizing OMRON's "Jumon", it will be possible to transfer programs (agents) from one mobile phone to another, while the Object Request Broker function will make it possible to manipulate mobile phone programs. These functions will make it possible to use communication applications and one-to-one applications easily.
(4) Personal Information:
It will be possible to make use of personal information such as addresses, places, current time etc...that are stored in handsets. Applications will, therefore, be more tailored to suit users' needs. Application programs will be checked beforehand by KDDI. Security is ensured since ezplus will be distributed from KDDI's own network server.


2. Service start time
From July 4, 2001 nationwide

* KDDI will from this fall equip ezplus with gpsOne location information services that use global positioning satellites and also start a new service Phase2 that corresponds to HTTP communications.


3. Content providers
17 companies will offer a total of 32 contents, 92 applications with more to come in the future.


ezplus handsets


The new models C451H and C452CA use EZweb@mail and c-mail's new "Oshaberi(CHAT)Mode" which have more e-mail functions, and are able to send, receive and save e-mails with screen files as well as receiving e-mails with a 5000 characters. C451H and C452CA are straight-type handsets with color liquid crystal displays, and 16 standard ringing melodies.

  • Download games from HITACHI's website
    Users will be able to access the "Hitachi Keitai Fan Site" from the EZweb direct menu and download and enjoy a wide range of ezplus applications. "Omoshiro Ko-ka On" (funny mood music) and "Kabegami" (wall paper) are available.

  • ATOK Pocket installed
    Japanese language conversion engine "ATOK Pocket for Mobile Phone" which is already used for C407H is also installed. ATOK Pocket will quickly and correctly convert letters into newly used words and teenager words, and will be particularly useful for e-mails and the "Oshaberi Mode".

  • Sounds
    The large caliber dynamic speaker phone will play expressive FM sounds and 16 melodies for incoming calls. Original incoming melodies can be created from the three octave and has a maximum 256 sounds. If you input the image and codes, 13 chords will also be available.

  • Illumination that shines with incoming melody
    On receiving a call, lights on the back of the handset will shine with 7 colors. Users can select the colors and the orders as well as the blinking patterns. For those who register, users can tailor melodies and colors.
(2) G'zOne C452CA
  • Pre-installed ezplus applications
    Users will be able to enjoy three pre-installed applications when they buy handsets. "Suki Suki Pair Kyara"(by Bandai) is a new mail communication tool utilizing ezplus's mobile agent, in which a certain character will play an agent role that transfers notice boards and gives presents to your friends' characters. Also Tokuuchi Apli (sammy 2001*1) and Densha de Go! Enodenhen will be available.

  • G'zOne performance
    JIS Protection Level 7 *2 water resistant and impact-resistant, to cope with the wear and tear of daily life.
    *2: JIS protection level 7: Water will not get into the phone after being left in water of 1-meter depth for 30 minutes.

  • Convenient menu functions
    Users can customize the menu screen by combining 3 icons and 4 backgrounds.
    Users can also download icons like "Afro-Ken" from EZweb contents "Machiuke Kyara Getter"(Bandai) for an additional charge. Users can register and access up to 3 short-cuts like favorite games and Karaoke songs.

  • G'zOne site
    Casio G'zOne site will have fun information like wallpaper and recommended contents.
    "G'zOne Tokei" will be available for download as an ezplus application.
