KDDI Releases Third Generation MOVIE KEITAI Handsets

- New handsets include cameras that record and send video clips

Tokyo, 26 August 2002 - KDDI Corp. and Okinawa Cellular have released 4 mobile handsets that include digital cameras and which take advantage of au's third-generation CDMA2000 1x network, capable of data transmission speeds of up to 144 kbps.

The MOVIE KEITAI is the first video e-mail 3G handset and is capable of recording and sending up to 15 seconds of smooth audio and video 'Movie Mail'. Furthermore, the handsets also facilitate the taking and sending of digital 'Photo Mail'.

In addition, KDDI will also implement 'Packet Discount,' a packet transmission discount campaign for users of e-mail and EZ Internet services as 'Movie Mail' and 'Photo Mail'.
