KDDI Open Innovation Fund III Invests in Hayden AI, a Provider of Traffic Enforcement Digital Twin Solutions

December 8, 2023

KDDI CORPORATION

KDDI invested in Hayden AI Technologies, Inc. (Headquarters: San Francisco, California, United States; CEO: Chris Carson; hereinafter: "Hayden AI"), a provider of digital twin traffic enforcement solutions which apply machine learning, through KDDI Open Innovation Fund III (operated by Global Brain Corporation; hereinafter "KOIF III"), which aims to incubate new business co-creations with promising venture startups.

Hayden AI applies custom high-performance cameras and edge AI technologies to provide governments and businesses with digital twin solutions that automatically detect traffic violations such as passenger vehicles operating in dedicated bus lanes and parking violations. Governments and businesses are able to operate public transportation systems in an efficient and safe manner.
Going forward, Hayden AI will strengthen its growth within the US while aiming to expand its business globally.

Through this investment, KDDI will apply its previously accumulated knowledge of IoT solutions and edge cloud technologies to support the expansion of Hayden AI into Japan.

As "the company that customers feel closest to," KDDI will continue to promote business co-creation through investment in promising startup companies, and create new business models together with customers and partners.
