Notice regarding the end of the INMARSAT Aero H System (High Gain Aircraft Earth Station equipment) service

INMARSAT has decided a 2-year extension of the provision period of the INMARSAT Aero H System (High Gain Aircraft Earth Station equipment) service, which will be terminated as of December 31, 2018.

Types of Aircraft Earth Station Equipment

H + System (High Gain Aircraft Earth Station equipment)

This communications system uses high-gain antennas and enables you to use telephone and data communications in packet mode when you select the global beam. When you select spot beam, you can also use telephone and data communications in packet mode.

Swift64 system (High and Mid Gain Aircraft Earth Station equipment)

This communications system uses high- and mid-gain antennas and uses spot beams to enable you to use high-speed data transmissions (at 64 kbps) and Internet packet transmission (IP packet transmission with a maximum bi-directional speed of 64kbps, best effort).

I System (High and Mid Gain Aircraft Earth Station equipment)

This is a communications system equipped with mid-gain antennas that enables you to use telephone and data communications in packet mode using spot beams.

L System (Low Gain Aircraft Earth Station equipment)

This communications system uses low-gain antennas and enables you to use data communications in packet mode using the global beam.
