KDDI HITACHI KDDI will present a joint exhibition in collaboration with Hitachi, Ltd. on the theme of "Society 5.0 and Future City" as a platinum partner of the "Future Life Expo: Future City" project.

What is Future City?

Future City is a stage to highlight the future city of Society 5.0,
a human-centered society that balances economic advancement
with the resolution of social problems.

Future City will ask visitors various questions and provide them with the opportunity to think together
about a vision for the city of the future through an exhibition that links and fuses the cyber field and the physical field.

Furthermore, it will transcend the boundaries between companies, organizations, and industries
to demonstrate digital innovation and new forms of value that will lead to the city of the future
created by combining various insights and ideas.

The exhibit will leverage the strengths of KDDI, which solves social issues
through solutions utilizing communications infrastructure and digital twin technology,
and Hitachi, which solves social issues through its social innovation business.

As a platinum partner of the Osaka, Kansai Expo "Future Life Expo: Future City," KDDI will present a joint exhibit with Hitachi, Ltd. and offer a virtual space platform that depicts a vision of the city of the future in both the real and virtual worlds. The city of the future realized by the world of Society 5.0 will be manifested through a combination of various opinions, technologies, and ideas. KDDI is taking a participatory approach to gather many opinions.

The exhibition consists of the Mirai Theater and the Mirai Arcade.

KDDI's History of Expo Participation

Display at the International Exposition, Tsukuba, Japan, 1985

Over a period of six months from March 17 to September 16, 1985, KDD (at the time) exhibited a standalone KDD pavilion at the International Exposition, Tsukuba, Japan, 1985.

Participation in the Japan World Exposition (Expo 2005 Aichi Japan)

Over a six-month period from March to September 2005, KDDI provided support for the smooth operation of the Japan World Exposition (Expo 2005 Aichi Japan) through efforts using the latest IT technologies such as a comprehensive information center, reservation system, support and navigation system, and the AI-MATE hybrid communicator.

Furthermore, KDDI also sponsored a light and water show called the "Koi Pond Night Event" (largest outdoor night event in the history of Expo). A corner was set up at the venue for visitors to experience the AI-MATE communicator as well as a listening corner featuring the FM LOVEARTH official Expo 2005 Aichi Japan FM station.
