As a telecommunications carrier that plays a role in core social infrastructure, KDDI considers information security and privacy protection to be critically important issues in order to provide customers with safe and secure telecommunications services at all times.
KDDI uses our customers' personal data to contribute to improving customer experience and to the sustainable development of society and fully recognizes the importance of personal data protection and enforces rigorous safeguards.
To promote information security and privacy protection in an integrated manner, KDDI has systematically developed its fundamental policies and regulations.
KDDI has established the 'Security Policy' as its basic policy for information security, and the 'Basic Guidelines for Data Usage' and 'Privacy Policy' as the fundamental principles and policy for personal data protection.
Based on these policies, KDDI is building a company-wide governance structure and developing internal regulations. Under this framework, we are actively engaged in information security measures as well as privacy protection initiatives, such as obtaining objective third-party evaluations and conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) before launching new services.

Utilization of AI (Artificial Intelligence)
KDDI has established the KDDI Group Principles for AI Development and Utilization to enhance customer experience value through AI and contribute to the sustainable development of society. Based on these principles, we promote activities such as developing guidelines and conducting assessments to ensure responsible AI service development.
In addition to raising awareness of these principles across the KDDI Group, we actively advance the use of AI in internal operations―including generative AI―and leverage insights gained from these initiatives to drive AI research and development. Our goal is to deliver safe and reliable AI services to customers.
