Responsible Advertising Practices
Our Approach to Advertising
KDDI creates advertisements with clear and easy-to-understand explanations that avoid misunderstanding, enabling customers to confidently select the services best suited to their needs from its diverse range of telecommunications and other services. To ensure that customers' autonomous and rational choices are not hindered by unfair inducements, KDDI's advertisements comply with the Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations and the Voluntary Standards and Guidelines on Placement of Telecommunications Services Advertisements.
Advertising Review and Approval Process
In developing advertisements, detailed information on the purpose of the advertisement and the relevant products and services is shared among the departments involved. The departments responsible for each service then produce the advertisements, which undergo a final review by the department responsible for checking advertising representations. As a rule, advertisements that do not pass this review are not published. KDDI selects media that can serve as effective touchpoints for communicating with customers.
Employee Training and Awareness
KDDI provides regular training and awareness programs to strengthen employees' understanding of responsible advertising and marketing communications.
- All full-time employees are required to complete annual e-learning training on appropriate advertising representations.
- Employees engaged in advertising development and review receive additional role-specific training, including practical instructor-led sessions held approximately semi-annually, to reinforce compliance and enhance professional expertise in advertising practices.
