KDDI Open Innovation Fund III Invests in 10X, Provider of Digital Transformation Support for Retail Companies

April 28, 2025

KDDI CORPORATION

KDDI invested in 10X, Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Masatake Yamoto; hereinafter "10X"), a provider of digital transformation (DX) support for retail companies, through KDDI Open Innovation Fund III (operated by Global Brain Corporation; hereinafter "KOIF III"), which aims to incubate new business co-creations with promising venture startups.

As a startup focused on bringing structural changes to the retail industry, 10X operates under the motto of "We make 10x" (disproportionate value), which is reflected in the company name. The "Stailer" product offered by 10X helps users build online supermarkets while also providing comprehensive support, including business strategy development, operation design, and customer experience optimization. The total gross merchandise volume (GMV) of companies using Stailer has been increasing year by year, with its growth rate significantly exceeding the industry average. In addition to providing the Stailer product, 10X has helped many retail companies achieve medium- to long-term growth through their "side-by-side" style of support that addresses the specific challenges of each client.

Through this investment, KDDI will support the business expansion of 10X by leveraging the new business platform for the AI era, "Open link in a new windowWAKONX (in Japanese only)", along with the assets of the Group companies. In addition, KDDI will further strengthen its efforts with "WAKONX Retail" to address industry challenges such as the diversification of consumer needs and the shortage of labor in the workforce.

As a "company that inspires passionate challenges," KDDI will continue to promote business co-creation through investment in promising startup companies, and create new business models together with customers and partners.
